The 2015 harvest at Château de Fargues began early Friday, September 11. The sublime 2007 had begun on that date. Auspicious ? Time will tell.
This great summer gave us beautiful golden and mellow berries, from late August onwards. The richness of these first noble rotted berries, once sorted, strengthens our hopes. This first generation of botrytis, although of course limited in quantity, must now swarm its spores for the following “tries” – or picking waves – to take place.
The shy rains of the weekend did not allow the spread of the fungus as much as we would have liked. We will continue probably this first “trie” for one day in the week just before waiting a few days for favorable circumstances. 3 ? 6 ? 9 ?
