A 14th century fortress at Fargues

Since 1968, Alexandre de Lur Saluces has been especially motivated to keep his estate properly equipped and to restore his castle-fortress – a moving reminder of his family’s history built in 1306 the Century Fortress.

A fine example of military architecture in the late Middle Ages, this monument was gradually adapted to more in keeping with its times (the French Renaissance) until the great fire of 1687.

It has been a listed historic monument since 2007.
